My Story
WHAT DOESN’T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER.
THAT IS A LIE.
My husband killed my heart, my mind, and my soul many times over. In dying these ways, I’ve learned that it’s what kills you that makes you stronger. It took love, faith, courage—and God’s help—to press forward and forgive. I soon realized that I could not help my husband change, I could not save him, no matter how much I loved him. With God’s help, I was empowered to walk away; to file for divorce; to start over.
It has taken me several years to heal from over a decade of the abuse, infidelity, and betrayal trauma my ex caused. I have experienced the depth of sorrow, pain, and darkness, and I savor love, light, and truth. Today, I feel empowered with the faith and strength those trials provided. I am driven by centering my life around my Savior, Jesus Christ, and creating a better life for my daughters and a better life for me.
Part of that healing process involves writing. I believe stories have the power to give us hope and human connection in ways relationships don’t. Writing has been an escape and a healing balm in my life. I have been able to utilize writing as a way to not only heal myself from the trauma and abuse, but to help others. I am passionate about my writing. I pour that emotion, those experiences into my writing to inspire others. To empower others. To show others that they, too, can move their mountains.
